5 Best Dressed At The Valentino Gala

On December 7th, Lincoln Center held a gala event for Valentino to honor the two creative directors Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli. Valentino has been in the fashion industry for many years and is a noted  Italian fashion brand for women and men. From their detail dresses to their elegant heels, Valentino stands as an authority in fashion. Celebrities from Bruce Willis to Liv Tyler, many noted fashionable celebs and fashion industry leaders joined this special occasion. Even amongst the  most fashionable people in the world, there are individuals who stand out.

A very pregnant Ivanka Trump looked so amazing in her all black gown with a pair of matching heels. This fashion designer and heiress always looks great on the red carpet and never lets the world down. I can not wait to see what the baby looks like and hopefully they are  fashionable just like their Mommy.

Keira looked stunning in her flowing  black dress.Being up close to her in to her in person, the dress looks amazing and, of course, she is wearing Valentino. Keira Knightly is such a fashionista and is also very well-known for being the best dressed in many galas and events.

Words can not describe how beautiful Nicky Hilton looks. This gown is so detailed and the color combinations are perfect. She looks like a tall blonde Goddess and I am absolutely so impressed at how amazing she looks. I literally can not get it over ! You better go Nicky !

Even at 70, Debbie Harry is looking younger than ever in her black Valentino dress. As the main performer of the night, her dress was also the main attraction. She did not complain even once about wearing 4 inch heels and performed as if she were back in the 1980s.

Even though I am not an A-list star (yet) I still rocked the red carpet and looked very handsome. The night overall was a night to remember. Getting to meet one of the creative directors of Valentino really meant a lot to me and it was a true blessing to attend the event.

What to Wear to Avenue ?

It’s 5PM and you and your girlfriends already know you’re going out to Avenue, no questions asked. You’re looking through your closet with no idea of what to wear, let alone put on your nice polished feet. Being one of NYC’s premier nightlife clubs, Avenue is home to many A list celebrities. Handsome gents flood to its Chelsea location, like seagulls at the beach. Dressing to impress is key. So ladies, SunShine is here to solve all your club problems and make sure your look is not only fashion forward, but unlikely to be replicated.

  1. Cute dress from a online retailer

There is an 8 out of 10 good chance that purchasing a dress from a store like H&M will result in some girl having the same exact dress on. This is not only super awkward but, it is even more awkward if she is extremely gorgeous. Online stores like NastyGal, BOOHOO, and even Topshop since it is oversees, are great ways to be different from the crowd and get the spotlight directly on you. Throwing a fur or mohair jacket over  your dress will make you look so much more edgy and fashion forward.

2. Nice size clutch that fits EVERYTHING !

Ladies, I know having  your ID, Iphone, credit cards, and MAC are so essential. Carrying a huge purse to the club is so annoying to carry and such an hassle to travel around. A clutch with a detachable strap is your BFF for ever and ever. You can still drop it like it’s hot and not worry about anything falling out. FYI have the clutch  zip up if you plan to do that.

3. Comfortable Heels.

Heels are literally the first thing people see when getting out of  your Uber or taxi. They make the outfit pop out and also makes you look taller to the world. I know having red bottoms is life but having heels that are $100+ are life as well. Heels that are 4.5 inches or taller are perfect. The inches are not tall nor short. You can still dance all night and still not tip over. I highly recommend insoles if you plan to be a party animal at Avenue.

4. ACESSSORIES 

Accessories are the final touches of your outfit from the waist up. You want jewelry that’s cute yet funky and will make you look an overall fashionista at Avenue. Accessories have no limit. You can  wear a ton of them or, one or two pieces. Mix and match or color coordinate them, just make sure you look better than the girl next to you  !

My first ray of light post

Hey Y’all what is up. My name is SunShine and  I am currently a Senior at The Fashion Institute of Technology studying Advertising Marketing Communications. A little more details about my sunny life, I am obsess with EDM and Fashion. I always combine the two in my daily life no matter. Since I was 14, EDM has always been my top genre of music to pick from. When  Myspace was popping, I had the best EDM tracks on my page and became a local celeb which is how I got SunShine as my name. This blog consist of me partying in NYC’s nightlife and experiencing new relationship with people, DJs, and clubs. I want to shine a light on NYC’s nightlife positives not the negatives.
